My fiancee just recently recovered from a staph infection in which he got from a workplace injury. His company refused workman's comp so he had to take no pay medical leave. During his medical leave they put his truck in for much needed repair. The opti idle wasn't working right, the bunk heater, the battery won't stay charged in the truck without shutting down completely. Well finally he gets off of medical leave after 21 days on antibotics and almost losing his leg because of the infection. That he gets his truck back with nothing fixed. He gets angry and takes the foreman to the side saying it needs to be fixed now that its been sitting there for five weeks. Well by 4 pm that afternoon he is told its finished. Mind you this is the foreman telling him this. He gets out of the terninal and through his first 2 loads before everything goes to hell. The opti idle now doesn't work at all, the bunk heater doesn't work if the key is on the on position, no heat in the truck during the night when you work in the North East Coast is horrible. The truck doesn't stay heated. The truck battery doesn't stay charged at all. The truck keeps throwing up codes for a malfunction within the fuel gage.
When he finally called the fleet manager they routed him to a dealership instead of the terminal. At which point we are stuck in a hotel for possibly two weeks because the dealer is too busy. The operations manager said he is gonna try to get him a new truck but at this point I don't believe s word the company says. Any advice from you seasoned truckers?

    Yeah we did lol

It's Werner. Not like it hasn't been covered ad nauseum in many threads what it's like to work there.

A dedicated account doesn't make it any different. It's still Werner.

The best they can do at this point is push hard for a new truck.....and look for something else. It won't be the last time this happens or worse.

I can tell him to look else where all day but at this point its not gonna help its just gonna stress him out. I support him a hundred percent. We are hoping that his operations manager will push for a new truck because if not maybe he will go for the local job that was willing to hire him for 30 hr

Why don't you take all this down time your having and apply for another job? Who in their right mind would work for a company like that. With so many options out there? If you sit there and keep taking the abuse and do nothing to improve your situation, stop crying about it...................Cause it's your fault for putting up with it
