So I've been driving a few different trucks in my new job. All Peterbuilt bobtail propane delivery tucks. I'm currently driving the one that I trained in and every time I turn right or left there is something that feels like it slides in the direction of my turn. The feeling isn't in the steering wheel but under the truck in the front somewhere under my feet??? Almost feels like something very heavy is sliding back and forth every time I make a turn right or left and slamming very hard. Anyone here have an Idea of what this is?
I've been driving another truck and often whenever I push on the service brakes and stop kinda hard, at about 20 to 30mph there is a dud sounding clunk sound and the steering wheel pulls about 1 to two inches to the right and over all the steering continues to pull to the right. I don't notice anything, or noises once I pull straight again and steering works as expected.
I'm going to start with that. Maybe some of you have an idea of what's going on.

Something is broken if the steering wheel physically moves left/right or forward/ backward when braking or turning. I don't know what might be broken.

Tell your boss what’s happening. He might not know if drivers there dont want to have downtime or have to take the truck into a shop.

First truck, how do you do your pretrip? do you check your steering linkage? To look for items like cab mounts being bad?
Second truck, the S cam rollers are sticking, they need to be greased and the S cams need to be checked themselves.4wayflashers Thanks this. -
I have no idea what's going on... What i do know is that if i was driving a propane delivery truck that is having issues with the steering or braking system, my Boss would know about it immediately! But that is just me....wis bang, Thrasher28 and 4wayflashers Thank this.

The first complaint could be loose "U" bolts on the leaf spring. Had that on a Peterbilt once, recently. Put it in the shop and have them check every nut and bolt under there.
4wayflashers Thanks this.
