A bunch of Ex Mullen/TEAMs Transport guys I know work there. They said it’s better than Bison/TEAMs/TransX etc etc etc.

Thanks. Of course anywhere is better than Bison, etc I did know a driver that worked there. She injured herself and they tried pressuring her to not go on wcb. But I have never heard anything else. They have a nice facility and keep their equipment clean. I think they do a lot of BC Good pay plan. Might talk to them.

Honestly I don’t blame them, if someone working for me got hurt, I would take care of them myself, before getting WCB involved.

Sitting next to a TURK guy in Billing’s MT, Brand new T680, Brand new 3000R reefer with TK S600 on it, fancy for a company truck.

I too wouldlookafter the employee. But there was more to the story. They wanted to pay her a lump sum. Injuries were serious. That T680 sounds nice! I thought they were all Volvo.

Expect to spend all day loading in the bc valley then run hard for Edmonton or Calgary for a 3 am delivery. I see way less of them out here I’m curious if they got undercut on freight .

I did a run they used to throw at me. Simplot French fries from Portage la Prairie load at 11pm to Grand Forks ND cold storage facility with a 2am appointment and then expect to run 3 hours to Neptune in Motley, MN and load at the crack of dawn.
They used to earn $1/mile net for O/O with their own trailer on BC fruit. However they would load Winnipeg Wednesday drop at Grocery People on the rear, Thursday Sobeys in the middle and Friday Safeway on the nose and they had no accommodations to cross dock to a company trailer and have a city guy deliver. Even at a charge. This paranoia on their behalf lead to 9,000 mile months when every other carrier was running 12,000 to 14,000 miles.
When I quit there in 2012 they asked why and I said they were so worried about being taken advantage of that they were working against their own interests. I presented the pervious account and said they should run their O/O to maximize their 13% but getting in 12-14k miles and hire city guys that work over night. One in at 8pm to cross dock city drops to one trailer and he nagged Safeway 11pm start, Sobeys starts at 3am, while a 2nd guy starts at midnight and gets to cover Loblaws at 6am. I suggested they buy a larger building with their own cold storage in the St. Andrews Ind park outside winnipeg where they already were and seriously accommodate the supply and demand aspect. A couple years later they did just that. I never drove their trucks but as I recall most had APU 's. I found the whole experience, less than 2 years, a degrading and lopsided experience of acute lack of professionalism superceded only by their incompetence. Even with a road map a child could follow, I doubt it's worth it now.

^^^^thats a prime example of running reefer. Spend 3 days loading then run like hell for 24 hours. Did it 3 months and only mileage pay. Ya, provided with swanky decked out Pete but worst job ever. Stayed 3 months as it was summer and did not mind layovers in Vancouver or Toronto at that time but not a year round diet

They do have a cross dock cooler. Nice people. For a company driver they are the only ones that answered all my questions. Trucks are 2019 o/o spec. APU. J fuel card. All trucks and trailers are washed when they return to yard. Latest eld. Much more. I do agree that reefer can be a pain. Your experience is 10 years old. They now do more long haul. CA,TX,Fl. They certainly have my interest. Better than Day and Riss,Trappers,Trans X Agra, or any of the reefer outfits owned by New Canadians.

    BigHossVolvo Thanks this.

I agree, they do OTR better than anyone else in WPG/Canada. With IHaul (IH&R) tanking, prob the best and last option IMHO. ERB is also tanking im told, didn’t take long for the kids to wreck it, after the old man passed.
