I run into these god forsaken intersections sometimes. I bet we all have.

You approach a T section, you need to turn left. Intersecting traffic does not stop. You look to your right and you cannot see anything. How do you handle?

I try to angle my truck to see better by cutting right when I get close, but it never seems to work.

You talking about because of the sleeper?
If so you have to hook it hard right or angle left and use the motor mirror.

Sounds like you are doing it right, just have to veer left a little bit first, then hard right to get the angle you need. Don't veer too much to the left or the 4 wheelers will cut in on your right.

Angle truck to your right, use the front mirror (but do NOT rely solely on it) you need to physically verify with your i eyes it’s clear. I’ve been at a few impossible intersections. Two way running across me, no way to see to the right. Even got out of my seat, but wasn’t working. Was there 8 minutes or so and then just decided I had to Clear left. Go into middle and then clear right. A few cars had to wait, but they lived. No other way to do it.

Oh that sucks! Yep, I'm talking about those. Small roads, so hard to get angle. Impossible to see.

I can get out of my seat and look. But by the time I get back behind the wheel and lift brakes, what I saw is no longer good.

Stupid designs. Those have to be all-way stops.

What if the truck don't have motor mirrors though?

9A6D0645-E885-4033-9490-528FFEB36419.png That’s usually one of those intersections that have this sign before the approach for the cross traffic to see and ignore as they continue to fly towards a blind intersection.

You need to "fake button hook".

About 2 tractor lengths before the intersection bring the tractor all the way into the left hand lane like you'd be setting a button hook. Once the tractor is all the way over, bring it back into your lane. If you do it right, the trailer with be straight and centered in your lane while the tractor will be canted to the right, allowing you to see out the right hand window.

If you do it wrong you look like a fool but you can still see.
