I had never heard most of the phrases Swift is an acronym for. The comment sections for trucking stories are usually hilarious!

I had to do a double take on pic #2, after seeing the FedEx truck apparently NOT involved in the accident for once. Maybe there is hope for mankind after all.

All Swift trucks have Drivecams, maybe they'll release the tapes.

I will have to go back a few months and see if I can find that article in which Trucking Companies take in 10,000 dollars of uncle sam's money for each immigrant they stick behind the wheel. Then write off all the expense of doing so tax time.

If I had to run a trucking company cash only and everyone wrecked several times a day Nation wide... it would bankrupt me.

    Dave_in_AZ Thanks this.

You'd have better luck getting the government to release a clear pic of the plane hitting the Pentagon.

I imagine Swift has a sub-company, we'll call Swift Recovery .... Swift Trucking pays Swift Recovery $6.00 mile one way, plus $2,000 load fee, plus any additional costs incurred/required. [And let's not have any doubts Swift Recovery has recovery trucks all over the nation but they will use the furthest location for billing purposes] ... so back to the theory ... So Swift Trucking can charge off the sizable expense on the books, while Swift Recovery makes out like a bandit ... win, win. See how this works?

And the towing and recovery companies across the nation probably co-op and provide Swift a substantial yearly "rebate program" as a preferred volume customer ... sending Swift upper management on escorted trips to Europe and South Africa
