It's not at all hard if your first driving instructor was in the habit of slapping your hand on it if you left it there.

Thanks everyone for the tips in shifting and recovering a missed gear. I am doing much better now! Now I have to get better with my turning and I'm good to go!:biggrin_25519:

From 6th to 7th simply put your open palm on the back of the shifter and push straight forward. The reason your missing the gear is because you are moving the shifter and not allowing the spring to do its job. By placing your open palm on the back of the shifter you are removing your ability to move the shifter and allowing the spring to align the shift. If you find yourself in 9th gear clutch it back to neutral pull the shifter back to the spring and rev to 1300 and clutch it back to 7th.

    Great to hear!

Don't forget to SLAM THE CLUTCH BREAK.

Don't stop until the trans falls out.

Pulling a van here is a tip that will keep you from running things over with the trailer while you turn.

Watch the first trailer axle. Once the axle gets to where the curb starts to bend turn the wheel, keep watching the tire, when it gets halfway around the corner then close off your turn. works like a charm every time. don't pull halfway out in the intersection and turn the wheel, you will run things over, if you "drive the trailer" it will never hit anything.

Just don't forget to keep one eye on the road while you have one eye on the trailer.:biggrin_25523:

Yeah truth be known I'm glad I ain't working for you, either. Facts to facts; these rookies coming into this industry now days are screwed over ten different ways to Sunday. Who honestly cares if they drop a trans? Honestly? It's probably the best thing that can happen to a company truck.

Like me, hate me- I am what I am; and I'm gonna keep hitting that clutch brake.

Forum staff or not, buddy, I can just register another account with TTR. Keep throwin that weight around.

And now, I am the clutch wrecker!

    Ha!

Don't care if you think I'm wrong! The only thing a man has, is his conviction.
