Dispatch gives me a load to pickup in Malden MO, I'm in New Orleans LA. They tell me I have to be there at 4PM and it's 9:30PM now. That's a 470 mile drive to do in 6.5 hours. According to google maps on their end it can be done.

What kinda idiot juice do these dispatchers drink?

Last time I got a 1350 mile long load and only 22 hours drive time to do it, I made it on time with 1 minute left to spare.

How do you guys deal with these kind of dispatchers?

Depends on the Rates, if the rates are great and I like the freight, I will get it done. Your situation is up to you.

    You leave the company.
Dispatchers know that a truck doesn’t do what google maps estimates. It’s not a car.
They will always push you. Till they realize they have no drivers.

I had a load from Western Express (forced dispatch). Thankfully I had to repower for a breakdown. 500 mile trip. 3 hours to get there. From a Home Depot whare house in Pennsylvania to some where in Illinois. Some custom door. If late, driver pays $50 per hour that door is late out of pocket. To top it off the market was imploding in 2008 amd Western Express hadnt paid me in over 3 weeks at the time.

Were you running on a ELD when you ran 1350 Miles in 22 hrs?..because that isn't legally possible.

Why not? It's still 62 mph avg. If he was out west with a truck that can go the speed limit and didn't stop at every ts he passed he could do it.

My business is definitely different since we buy and sell the trucks but I either a.) add time to what google maps says or b.) ask the driver. I tell my drivers to let me know if my expectation is unrealistic. That's just me though.

Let's see. Say he averages 65 mph for 11 hours of driving = 715 miles ..Sleeper (8 hrs) ..so now you're @ 19 hours ..that means you have 3 hours of driving to get there (635 Miles to drive). Unless there's some kinda Lightspeed turbo on the motor & you're hauling @ 211 mph... I'm not seeing how that's legal because you would be definitely be breaking the speed limit because I've never seen signs posted for 211 Mph.
