Plan to be broke... You'll get paid up until you got off your trainers truck. Then a small amount to cover the first couple days until your classes are done. After that nothing.
At least... That was my experience....

However, be sure to go to dispatch and get meal cards. They pay room and board as well as meals until you get in a truck.

Yup... the wheels ain't turnin' while you're at the yard, so you're not earnin' either. Your FM can provide you with extra meal cards, so you won't be starving.
Even company drivers need to set back some cash in the bank to cover times like this. You should always have enough to cover a bus ticket home if something bad happens. If you're on the road and broken down, your FM will put money on your card to cover your expenses... make sure you keep your receipts. -
Well, if you are going to drive for Prime, you better learn how to live broke.
I know a couple guys who ran liquid food grade tankers with them, and they never made enough money to be worth it.
So let's see.....they knew you were do to upgrade, yet it takes them over a week to get you a truck? This should serve as an indicator of what is to come in the future. -
I'd like to correct this notion. Yes, no pay for upgrade classes. However, as a company driver you should be getting layover pay for each day you waited for a truck.
get to your fleet manager and straighten it out. It's not your fault you can't get rolling. -
That's a new one Chuck. Not saying you're wrong, just hadn't heard that before.

Company Drivers really need to learn the definitions of layover and breakdown pay. Layover is pretty straight forward with a couple technicalities. Breakdown is far more complicated.
waiting to be assigned a truck is layover. Prime should be billing Success Leasing for the pay. -
As much money as Success makes off of me, somebody ought to be billing them for something!
awbro Thanks this. -
need more info....
1) what company do you work for ?
2) what paperwork covering this situation did you sign in orientation ?
3) How long have you been with this company ?
the above is not all required but its a good start to get a correct answer
