Working with smaller brokerages where the people are more personable will likely get good results for you. Of the mega-brokers I would say CHR is the most straightforward easy to work with. Although as a new MC they will BS you about having to work a few loads for cheap before they give you anything good. Which is nonsense of course.

I started on my own 7 years ago.I just called any broker that had a load going to the area I wanted to go as long as the brokers credit rating was good.Never had any problems, the only one I ran across that didn't work with new carriers was crst Malone or could have been crst logistics don't remember.Dont know if it's gotten tougher lately seems there are a lot of questions on here about new carriers and brokers working with them.when I started it never even crossed my mind I just called and negotiated the rates.

I would say everybody but 10-20 brokerages will give you loads. Some will start after 3 months, some after 6 and some after 1 year

Pepper24 is spot on. Starting out you work with whoever and over time figure out who's worth picking up the phone for whenever they call.
