I absolutely admit I "hijack" , and I also admit that I'm trying to do less of it. Threads are conversations and as I was told at the beginning of my time at Trucker's Report "no one owns a thread, even the OP".
Conversations evolve, it's human nature to add to a conversation or ask someone something off topic. And yes, sometimes when a thread has turned hateful, hurtful or disgusting.......I purposefully will hijack it.
Frankly, and I realize this may offend someone: if you have a problem with a post that another makes.......you have choices to make. If you feel someone has posted wrongly: REPORT IT.
I tend to make the choice to hijack or to make an extremely long post that is on topic but involves a story about my father or John Wayne, or my grandsons or patriotism. I don't like to report every little thing nor do I like to post and whine about every little post I don't like.
My threads get hijacked......big freaking deal. Hijack 'em. If it bothers me enough I'll pull up my big girl panties and report them. Otherwise I'm probably going to laugh about your hijacking.
I just don't see why there are people who have to whine and moan about every thing that others do. I don't see why when people talk and laugh and enjoy life someone else has to make it into a federal crime.
But.
That's just me.
Nik.....I removed the hijacking sig line because some people don't have humor in their nature. Some people have only anger and self righteousness. Some people can't read a sig line that says "Proud member of the Trucker's Report Hijacking Team" and grasp the fact that it's a freaking JOKE. Instead of laughing OR ignoring they feel the need to pm and say hateful obscene things. So I removed the sig line.
Now I get pms from people telling me it's shameful that I'm bragging about not paying razorsharp the money I owe her. *rolls my eyes* It's a joke, I don't owe Razorsharp any money.
*takes a big breath* Back to the OP's "topic".
I believe I'm correct in saying the following: We're fortunate at T'sR to have an Owner/Admin and Admin/Head Mod(MT) plus staff that encourage us to be more than just faceless, soul-less posters and encourage us to be family. To be family requires more than bland information. It requires sharing and hearts.
*goes to buy diet coke*teddy_bear6506, sammycat, rocknroll nik and 1 other person Thank this. -
Sorry Nana didnt mean to hit on a sore subject
-
Like Nik, I got a laugh from your sig, Nana. Sorry to hear it brought about issues for others.
*Hugs Nana and looks for the pie to share*

Thanks, guys and gal(s), your responses helped me absorb some of the "flava" here, I get it.
I'll get off the "need to get information" train of thought and start thinking of this place as more of an e-social kinda place with a healthy dose of information mixed in. I'm still comming here for information and to ask questions because as I stated, it's still a good place for that!
Ya never know, perhaps someday I'll find I need a place to e-socialize if I'm lucky enough to become successful out on the road.
And yes, I did notice the comical, purposeful tanget posting on this thread.
yuk yuk!
Be well out thereteddy_bear6506, Jimbo60, Big Don and 1 other person Thank this. -
I still have some chocolate silk pie here Nana!
-
Don't have to even be on the road to socialize here!
-
She said all that, and STILL didn't tell us how the new truck is doing.
-
I don't think she wants to answer that question!

On a serious note TUT, if in a thread that has a lot of action and there is a post you would like more clarification/information on, use the 'Quote' button at the bottom of that post to ask your questions. Quoted posts stand out a bit more, and that way, others will know just what you are talking about. Don't know how things work at some of the other forums you have been on, but thought I would offer you that useful bit of info!
Jump on in anywhere and ask questions, etc!
