Where I am employed the only way to collect vacation pay is taking time off otherwise there are people who would never take holidays. One fellow saved vacation pay for 15 years, big chunk of change was coming to him the afternoon he keeled over dead in truck from a stroke.

which is why, when it is time to retire...you retire

when it is time, to take a vacation...you take a vacation

when it is time to get married......YOU RUN LIKE HELL.....!!!

A strong contestant for "Perfect Employee".

Perfect would have been he delivered his last load, turned in the truck and all equipment, and removed himself from company property before he dropped dead.

No liability or expense to the mighty company that way.

That I think I would love. At least you could plan a nice little vacation maybe every other month. Esp with our kids in college, its just me and the hubby

Where I am at I don’t get vacation. I get 4 or 5 days off a month paid at about half of what I’d earn if I was doing a route. But we are also “on call” so we will see how often they let me home.
