I would use X15-E 500/1850@1000rpm if i went that route, combined with 13 ultrashift

Volvo discourages ordered trucks, they don't offer concessions on pricing with them generally.

But... Most lot trucks are a compromise and about 2/3 out there are crap specs....

Finding a good spec can be a pain to locate.They really need to train their dealers better, most Salesmen don't know much about the product. [Rant/off]

The X15 with ultrashift will be more, they really raised pricing on them to dissuade competition with their in house motors.

I think even the VNX is limited to the 1850Tq which is really bizarre....

 

Is the X15 better than the ISX? I drove a T680 with the ISX and absolutely hated that engine. You could go deaf just listing to the thing idle. The fan would come on all the time (even when it was freezing and the motor was cold) and it would be like a jet engine taking off. My D13 is really quiet and smooth and I have had no issues with it.
