I have several friends/coworkers at Walmart, Frito Lay and UPS that have already made $100,000 this year. All are 20-35 something years of experienced drivers. They are all happy with their jobs, but they all have some BS associated with their jobs. But who doesn’t have some BS making a buck that isn’t independently wealthy?

Dude Frito Lay has signage all around and in Topeka advertising their drivers make 100k+ a year. I had no idea they paid that well.

I left in 2002 due to an impending plant closure and I didn’t want to move out of state for a job. I was at $32 an hour for all hours worked working 55 or so hours a week. It was an excellent job with great pension and benefits. Not everyone wants to manually unload trailers by handcart and two wheel dolly, but the money is there. 24/7 operation rules some people out also.

    Questions about Frito Lay

Here’s a pretty good thread on it. I remember it from a few years back lurking on it. If memory serves dude was kind of hired as a floater and on call but was makin really good money. As a matter of fact I think @Banker helped him out a little too answering questions.

You just gave yourself away! You’re the problem. And that’s why your gone! Nobody likes getting in a truck riddled with a smokers stink first of all, who the F smokes in 2022? You sound like a liability driving and with your S attitude and that’s why you’re gone. Walmart has plenty of truck lawsuits, they don’t need another one with you eating red lights and whatever else your doing. Then the Democrat BS from your warped political logic? Sounds like you my friend are a J off and Walmart saw it. The ELD issue was the last straw for them. I worked for Wally World for 4 years till I saved enough for my own truck and I left. Doing better now alone w my own rig. But, your kind likes to blame others without looking at maybe, just maybe YOU are the problem!. I wish you luck finding something good out there with your entitlement issue and crap attitude. Walmart isn't great but a decent job, yes management are A holes and it’s a micromanaged place to work. And yes, some drivers are A kisser like in every trucking company. But then again, if you can play their game, you’ll do well there. I lasted 4 years and had enough but I thank them for me being able to buy my new KW and keep my house when so many were foreclosing back in 2007-08. You sound like the typical entitled D bag. Nothing is ever your fault, is it? LoL

I worked at Walmart in a store a couple years ago. I heard from employees that had been working there for longer than I was alive that Sam Walton took care of his employees. But after he passed, the higher ups have ran the company into the ground. I'll bet Sam is rolling around in his grave over all this.

Your a typical radio Rambo know it all. I’m not the problem. 34 years, multiple driving awards, convoys for kids, 4 million miles plus accident free/ticket free, well spoken, shirt tucked in, clean cut been married to the same women for 25 years, great member of my community etc.
SO NO, I’m not the problem. My attitude? Yes probably a little poor after a company only wants to have the puppets and get rid of the realist who challenges there contradicting hypocrites ways. My friend, maybe when you go on a rant to someone you know nothing about, do so professionally without name calling and criticism. It is drivers like you who are the problem. Bully if you will. This world can do with a lot less of you and a whole lot more of me. I now work for a Christian family owned business pulling pneumatics driving top of the line equipment, and 100% paid family health dental and vision. No stress zero micromanaging and a great family atmosphere. So in the end, Walmart did me a favor. I simply wanted to expose more of the truth about what drivers are potentially getting in to so they have good solid information and can make a sound choice for them and their families. It’s called looking out for one another with respect and dignity. Something you should try using more often. I hope your bitterness doesn’t keep you from flying my friend and I also hope that the owner operator world is kind and good to you. Best of luck in your endeavors.
