Walmart just canned 2,000 people. No notice.
No way I ever pull another Wally load, ever, don't care what kind of emergency bail out money is involved.

Closing some sam stores too. And Wal-Mart just announced a pay raise and bonuses too
Dave_in_AZ Thanks this. -
I haven't seen the wires yet, any reason why this is happening?
-
Cause they're Billionaires?
not4hire and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
@Dave_in_AZ
They laid them off for liability reasons. That’s 2000 less people that have to watch for falling prices.
Derailed, jammer910Z, Streetroddreams and 5 others Thank this. -
Is it wrong that I laughed at this?Streetroddreams, x1Heavy, shogun and 1 other person Thank this.

Most likely Amazon.
I have a Wal Mart, Fry's ( Kroger ), Safeway, all within a mile of the house.
Wal Mart used to blow them away on anything dry.
Now it's pennies. So for a dollar or two, to stand in line for twenty or thirty minutes, I'm going to Fry's.
Plus Safeway has the best meat, and both Fry's & Safeway have awesome bakeries & delis.
Service does matter.
But I know Amazon is deep in their pocket.TaterFox Thanks this. -
Kinda over dramatic aren't ya?
I mean, if your just looking for an excuse, well, fine. But maybe find out WHY before gettin all Oprah on us. -
Well, honestly, that makes perfect sense. I despise the "get to know your neighbor" lines at WalmartDave_in_AZ Thanks this.

There was an article on Live Trucking that Wal Mart was going to severe ties with Swift or Schneider if they pulled Amazon loads.
So Amazon has to be making a huge impact.
Amazon is the coming wave. That Amazon DC out near Buckeye is like 4 Walmart DC's. It's like one of those warehouses in Jersey.
And they have like 4 more on the south side of Phoenix.
F Walmart.drvrtech77 and x1Heavy Thank this.
