One of the most interesting engine degreasing solutions that a mechanic told me about some time ago, was to use an household oven cleaner. Spray it on the engine, drive it to the car/truck wash, then rinse it off.

blue beacon washes my engine every time i get the truck washed start it right away to dry things out they never cover the alternator. This concerned me first time but 25 times later they seem to know what is going on. On the boats when we degreased the engine we always did it out the grease and oil just melted right off. The degreaser hardens and makes brittle all the plastic and hydraulic lines after a while is the biggest concern. I use to say an oily engine didn't rust

I always avoid washing the eng in trucks and cars due to all the elec connections and sensors.
Washing the eng can cause water to get into one that might have a crack or loose connection and then cause corrosion to start in and then 3 months from now you got problems and good luck finding the problem.
Doing it carefully while covering connections is ok but opening the hood and then spraying away not recommended Imo. -
No power? Like truck won't turn over and no electronics work? Or truck starts and runs but just doesn't have much power?
