Just pulled into the atlanta petro. A trucker pulls out of his spot nrxt to me. Leaving a big bag of trash on the ground. Alth ough the trash was lrft in a trash bag . A dumpster was only 10 feeet away from him. We are our own worse enemies.

I think im gonna start posting pictures on fb. Under a different nsme of course.

Not all of us are this way. The ones that are slobs are definitely an embarrassment though.

Good Morning. this type of thing will get better with time. Out with the old in with the new. A whole new thought process is coming into this industry and attrition will take care of the slob.

The more people that enter into this profession with our mind set, things will change. The old way will slowlly disapear or evolve.

but that in itself is the problem.....it all boils down to how people are raised and coming from a background where I managed over 200 people of all ages, I see alot lacking in the younger generation in terms of work ethic, personal responsibility and basic common courtesy and respect.

There may be a few older hands coming in from other industries as I did, but in general the attitude and mindset of people in general is much worse as the years go on.

those who, as you say, have 'our mindset' who were raised by parents who got it and taught us the right way from the wrong way, are sadly in the minority anymore.

I agree with you, and I can see from your stats we are about the same age and generation Xers. This new generation is what we produced, generation yers. It is the instant generation everything they know has been instantaneous right at their fingertips their whole life. As an example we look at three years as short they look at it as a life time. We grew up with Snail Mail they grew up with IM, Email, Internet. Both of my kids were raised by two parents but in reality they were raised by the information age, and now we have to adapt or be pushed aside.

Slobs don't represent "the old way." This problem is getting much worse because of the people entering the industry - not better.

Just look around you - look at the drivers, listen to the cb, look at the bathroom walls, sniff the air while you're standing in line at the fuel desk. You are vastly outnumbered by people who have no self-respect. If they don't even have any self-respect, how can we ever hope they'll respect the property of others and not trash things up?

Not trying to be disrespectful I just see it differently. Yes there will always be the slobs, but I see allot more good than bad.
