8000 gallons of what?
-
-
You can guess about 8 lbs per gallon. The real answer is not one anyone here can answer though. The reason is what is in the transmix? Is it gas and diesel? Is it gas and kerosine? Is it.....?
Even known the products, what is the percentage of each?
Then temperature matters. Colder weighs more as it gets slightly more dense....BoxCarKidd, Just passing by and tattoo12 Thank this. -
all I know it's transmix . Idk what percentage is what
-
I am not familiar with the product but would think you'll need to scale empty and loaded a couple of times before a "guesstimate" can happen...

Transmix comes out to according to my email about it from Kinder, 7.8 lbs per gallon.
Edit - that is gas, Diesel, Fuel Oil, other hydrocarbon componets like Touline and "octane". -
I know 8000 gallons weighs more than 7999 gallons and less than 8001 gallons. Hope this helps.

Schoob, Rideandrepair, Nothereoften and 2 others Thank this. -
Depends on the density of the liquid. Flammables like brake cleaner tend to be light while corrosives are often heavier.
Vaping fluid on the other hand, assuming some if my past BOLs were correct, comes out to around 12 lbs or so a gallon. -
Gasoline is even at 60° and diesel is heavier. So temp. is what you watch. Know how much 8000 or even 8500 gallons weigh. You can find that information from the pipeline-terminal or even in the library. However, I don't believe 8000 gallons of transmix is going to put you over. The truck you haul this transmix is set-up for petroleum? If your truck is heavy to start with you might want to scale the load. Now that we are just going into winter I assume that your truck is not too cold and heavy.
