This is the third tire I’ve had this happen to, all drives. Trailer hitting them when I dump my air bags? I don’t think that’s what it was, but I can’t figure anything else.

    Any ideas?

The one tire I had that happen was when it was spinning on top of an object in the field when I was unloading trusses.

    Could’ve spun on something.

Some tires get wrecked easily and others take more abuse.

Flatbed? Could be the winches. Otherwise, I have no idea.

We've ruined a tire just like that, in the same position, when our fifth wheel plate was too far forward and the tire contacted the frame of a flatbed in an off camber situation. Do you pull the same trailer all the time? Flatbed or van?

Midwest Trucker and tarmadilo Thank this.

Drop and hook van, but my fifth wheel is forward a bit, came to me that way. I reckon I’ll slide it back!

Is it always the tire in that same position? Seems pretty obvious something is rubbing on it. Get out and look. Dump air or turn 45 degrees to trailer and see what is happening. Could it be from your mudflap hanger?

Look, if you're doing burnouts at a stoplight trying to impress someone, we get it. Just own up to it already!
