Hey all you fellow truckers I'm new to this forum thing well not that new I been on here reading a lot of different trucking companies etc.. I just wanna share my experience with Werner enterprise.. I'm currently a trainer drive all 48 states been driving for roughly a year in half almost 2 years now I definitely experience good & bad with Werner I'm not going to down them or anything they're good starter company but if I had more choices when I first received my cdl I definitely would have started somewhere else.. I guess I'll give my pros & cons about Werner
Pros
•I love driving all 48 but some days I do wish I had more home time..
•I go home 3-5 some times 6 weeks at a time.. Oh I choose to stay out that long..
•My fm is really cool I get ok miles solo if I don't have a student I'll say 1500-2000 miles when I have a student 3000-5000 on a good week or depending on a student 6000..
•Idk about other companies but I can take my home time anywhere
•Pet friendly
I think that's it with pros
Cons
•Pay is wack asf I get paid 30cpm in I been with Werner pretty much my whole time I received my cdl but I did went to another company then came back so idk if that affect the pay or not.. In also my next raise is in Aug in I'll be getting 33cpm like that something to get hyped about but I'm considering leaving soon..
•No inverters for company drivers I hate that a lot..
•Some times shortage of MTs are a big headache
•Some times drivers leave you with broke down trailers like mudflat missing, light out etc
•Trailers old
I think that's all for cons
Like I said earlier I been driving for almost 2 years now got my cdl at road masters in West Memphis,AR 3 weeks after I receive my cdl took a week off at home then straight to orientation at Werner orientation was orientation so not getting into depth with that after that got on the road with my trainer real cool guy I learn a lot from him then after me & my buddy from school team for like 6 months made alottttt of money after them 6 months we decided we wanted to drive for someone else which we decided to try srt unfortunately we didn't team there we both did solo so I did srt for a month money wasn't look good so my trainer wanted me to train for him at Werner so I said cool lets do it drove for him the worst decision ever idk worst decision or probably bad timing because his truck was #### I stayed in the shop the whole time I drove for him so I decided to cut the chicken in went back to company side.. Until then I'm still here with the company.. So now I'm deciding if I should try in become an O/O over at Werner or go somewhere else like Prime maybe I heard they have a great lease program I'm really stuck in between the middle I mean I heard great stories from both O/O at Werner & LP at Prime so ya.. But then there's Tmc, Wti, BTC, Melton, Mavericks etc I have no FB experience just wanted to try some different but those are a few companies I was looking into also but mainly my focus is staying here at Werner to become an O/O or LP at prime if there any experience truckers out there might have a positive feedback on the decision I should make would really help in if any newbies or anybody have any questions about Werner please ask thanks in have bless trucking day..

So you team train with a student and training with under 2 years on the road?
snowlauncher, akfisher, Dave_in_AZ and 3 others Thank this. -
Correct I actually trained about roughly 8 students now
-
Oh the can of worms had been open, and it smells rotten
Lonesome, Toomanybikes, Dave_in_AZ and 4 others Thank this. -
Are you forced to team train or do it that way for the extra money?
-
Before the negative comments comes I actually being doing good training I actually started after my 6 months so don't come with the babies training babies joke I saw that before I mean it's not hard training at all especially here at Werner I like meeting new ppl in helping them learn how to drive I always have good comments after I graduate them I'll say most of my students pass there road test in some unfortunately some didn't due to there reason or quitting..ladywrongway03, akfisher and Lone Ranger 13 Thank this.

I'm sure you're doing fine, but i was talking about the whole thing of being an o/o under an lp and being a trainer, neither of those in the same paragraph are very well perceived on this site
Canned Spam Thanks this. -
No I team because I was new on the road in wanted to do 48 but I wasn't ready to be completely alone so me & buddy decided to team then after them 6 months came after feeling comfortable I started to train for extra money & to help new guys learning how to drive correctly & safely

Oh
oh so that's bad ?! -
OP~you think your pay is wack now, what do you think it will be if you become an O/O with Werner you have enough experience to get on with a few good companies
Toomanybikes Thanks this.
