Ive been driving over 6 years and have a good record. Guess how much I make per mile? Exactly 1 penny more than a newbie..31 cpm. Going elsewhere, no more big companies.

Actually what's sad and pathetic is that a person with 6 years experience would work for that pittance!

What's really pathetic is that person would actually admit to the world that they work for that pittance!

    Some people have no shame.

I hear that,I started out there at 24 cpm and left there 29 cpm with no miles. The last company paid me 31 to start and when the economy took a tumble so did my pay 29cpm.Many companies are doing excellent in revenue and are taken advantage of our economy by not giving drivers back their pay, starting out low pay and no raises. Then so many want to enter this industry thinken they're going to really make the bucks.Man are they in for a rude awakening.

Hey now, if you would have stuck around for 15 years you could be making BIG MONEY.

Met an old timer with 21 years experience with werner pulling down 36CPM, and he was #### happy about it.

I really don't see the problem here. Training companies are exactly what they sound like. Why is it so hard to get it through your heads. This is entry-level trucking, which the pay is directly correlated.

Training companies pay less then slave wages and no reason for it.They mainly use the trainees for the miles like many trainers do.You starve if you don't work so you say, well thats exactly what happens out here with many of the mega carriers..Low miles.set salary for the trainees. Many have maxed out their credit cards trying to survive out here. Many get cash advances because their weekly checks are so the latest poor.Companies are making thousands a week off drivers. They can afford the laest techknowledgy, giving bonuses to the overpaid executives but can't pay drivers a decent wage. Most companies have a no idle policy,I would'nt be surprised if that money they save on fuel goes towards corporate greed.Bottom line is companies pay slave wages and it does'nt have to be that way.Drivers have to make a decent living too.I've been for since 2003 and even the companies that require 2 yrs exp does'nt pay good.Since our ecomony started to tumble 3 yrs ago many had to take a pay cut,and I see freight picking up but not the drivers pay.

Yes training companies are exactly that, training companies. But many does not do their homework before starting a company. Many things are left out on web sites. Many recruiters go to schools recruiting students and leaves alot out till the student gets to that company then unfortunately he has to find out the hard way.The high turnover rate is the fault of companies, not drivers.
