Bigger places do not "bypass the brokers" and pass the savings on to you. IDK what your thinking. A lot of freight comes to them directly, it is true, but they all still use brokers and it doesn't matter anyway they are not cutting you into any profit they get. They pay a flat rate below substance and they don't care if your truck makes money or not.

I believe the o/p said he owns his own truck, don't know what kind of work he's looking for (van) I'm guessing

 

you have your truck leased onto a company which has their own trucks as well. do you think that they will say, "hey, this load pays $1.80 and this load pays $2.40. lets take the lower paying one and do the right thing by giving the higher paying one to him." yeah, right
