We are setting up our first lowboy and need a little help. Recent purchased a Trail King Tk110hdg and need to know hydraulic unit requirements. I do plan on running a pony unit because we will use multiple trucks to pull it and most already have blower units on them. Really don't want to spend the money to equipment all of them.
What I really want feedback on is what size pump and pressure rating. The other question is how big of reservoir do I need. Thanks in advance for all your help and advice.

When you choose your reservoir size keep in mind the requirements for an end/side dump if there is a chance that you might pull one. Mine is 35 gallon for pulling end dumps, but you wouldn't need near that much for just a lowboy.

Do you have a local dealer with a service department? Is so they can tell you what you need. Each trailer has different flow and pressure requirements.

They did not do a great job at one dealer and the other wants to sell me his $3700 pony unit. I think that makes him a little biased and crazy for what I am finding pony units for. He won't give me details on what the unit he has is .( Well at least since I told him he is crazy)

One of the best things I ever did was throw the pony motor in the weeds and put a wet line on my truck . Won’t hardly start under 30° and after three or four drivers pull it it’s usually so jacked up it’s just a mess!!!

Biggest reason I want a pony is we own 11 trucks and the one I need will always be gone. That's just my luck.
