Hard to believe in this economy at this time. If you said 2 months ago it would make sense but the past 3-4 weeks the rates crashed big time... are u pulling dry van? What states? What brokers if u dont mind me asking?
-
Pulling a flat running the eastern half of the country, and that is all that I will say about that.
99.9% of the rates off the load boards are pure junk, no question about it. Keep your truck(s) posted, call, call, and call some more. Never give up and just accept the cheap crap these brokers try to pawn off, there is better stuff, you have to be VERY persistent to get it.
Something that has really been a benefit to me is something that I learned from TQL. What is the one thing that pisses most of us off that they do on the load boards? They post the same load a half dozen times with different pickup and drop locations. Why do they do this? So that their load will come up in more searches if people have a limited search radius set.
I'll post my truck in multiple cites/towns, makes the phone ring a heck of a lot more by doing this. You want them to call you, that is more to your advantage than for you to be calling them. Listen to what they have, know your numbers and before they can give you a number give them yours. I have a much higher success rate doing it this way than calling them.BigRedNY, spyder7723, ShooterK2 and 1 other person Thank this. -
That is awesome oscar.RERM and Oscar the KW Thank this.

Is that $2.38 + permits?
How many loads?
Did you book all the loads from different brokers off the board or were some of them repeat business? -
There are Carriers paying $2.00 per mile avg. @ 1.35 per mile, its hard to focus on preventative maintenance. Just because u see a slickly made advertisement does not mean the O/O rcvgs the money required to operate safely. Recall, 90% of all small business fail during their first 5 years of operation. (im just saying)
-
It's gross, one load was permitted, 4 loads from four different brokers. 2644 of those miles were empty.
-
I'd say you're doing pretty good OscarOscar the KW Thanks this.
