So I recently resigned, and now the company is holding my pay for the previous 2 weeks of work that I have already completed. I called up there and they are trying to tell me I didn't give proper notice.

I sent Qualcomm message company wide as well. (I have pictures)

Truck cleaned out, keys turned in with truck and all gear returned, including medical card issued by the company. (I have pictures)

What am I to do now? They are really putting me in a bind by not letting my paycheck come through direct deposit this morning.

look at your contract for what you agreed. If you signed agreeing to give X amt of time notice or forfeit X pay. Then they can do it. If not, tell them you'll be contacting wage and labor.

The med. card was yours to keep, they have a short time to give you a break/down of $ they will take out of the last ck. Its allways best to have another driving job before you leave the one you have now?

tscottme and Bean Jr. Thank this.

The medical card was not mine. It was property of the company and $300 if we wanted to keep it. I have my own medical card.

I am taking a new job out of the trucking industry, which is why I decided to quit.

If you got a new medical card by the company AFTER your OWN card was already in your possession, then that one is INVALID. Drivers hold ONE Medical card current to last exam. Not whatever you had prior to that.

Contact your state's wage and labor, bring the contract with you.

So since I returned the medical they issued me, I have to go get another new one to keep my CDL current if I should decide to use it again?

I contacted the State wage and labor and they said they can't do anything until the 13th of this month. :biggrin_25523: *uck!!!

Yes if you do not have a valid DOT medical to the home DMV at some point your home state will downgrade your CDL and there you are just a car license and have to do it all over again.

This will remove the ability of the company you quit from destroying your CDL by failing to forward whatever DOT medical they think they hold for you. That will become invalid too.

I don't give a #### what the company and their 300 dollar fee to get your DOT medical back, Thats YOURS to keep with YOUR CDL. You might as well spend 50 tomorrow at your doc and get a third new DOT medical and move on with your life.

Under the new regulations, he just won't have a copy of the card. His state DMV should have it in the system, and, according to the plans, all agencies should be able to access it online. The regulations were to have it that we no longer need to carry it on person. But that thing called reality keeps getting in the way.

Some companies will delay payment. Stop harrasing them for the pay. Get on with your life. If they pay you great. If they dont such is life.

I drove for Western Express. They said I would see 1200 a week gross. Drove for them 8 weeks in 2008 when the stock market was crashing. They didnt bother to pay me until one month after I left. Oh and they paid me a total of $1400 with a whole lot of deductions as to why I should not get more.

No, no, no, no! Just because that happened to you from one of the lowest paying carriers out there, does not make it right and that op should just roll over and say "if they pay me, fine, if not, oh well"! He worked for it, they owe it to him, he should be paid, barring contractual obligations.
