That driver deserved the ticket. He saw what the cop was doing. Yo me it looks like he was trying to avoid being in the slow down traffic. Should have first slowed down and stayed back. At a minimum got all the way over. Watched the cop, and avoided this from happening.

What genius thought of this technique to slow traffic? The cop didn’t side swipe the truck he straight up pulled out in front of him. I would have assumed like the driver in the video did that the cop was pulling over another vehicle

    wow, really?
    2 things.
#1, I've never, ever seen a cop do this. Ever. Apparently, it's a Left Coast maneuver.
#2, you come across 3 lanes of traffic and hit me and it's my fault????

Cop crossed a solid white line to do it too.
Absolutely moronic. Hopefully next time he pulls that move he winds up a paraplegic.

I have seen that maneuver several times but never at a point where there were six lanes of traffic. It will work where there are two or three. After that I have seen it done with multiple police cars where the intention is much more clear that you are to slow down. Just one care drives wonder what is going on. With two or more cars slowing down the intent is much more clear. Looks like another case of the blue brotherhood protecting it's own. Protect and serve .... since the courts have made it clear they have no duty or obligation to protect us 'citizens' that leaves the motto to mean only themselves I suppose.

Cops around my way are FROM around my way. So they drive just as badly as everyone else.
I’ve had cops cut across 4 lanes so close in front of me I lost them behind the hood /while standing on the brakes, to take an exit almost going in the grass.
Not on a call mind you, just cruising...

Cops are people too. Ever body isn’t a good driver.

With 50 different states all with their own rules and some having same as others it is up to drivers to know all the rules and laws. Unless that officer just started the maneuver and turned the lights on it should not have happened. The roads have become super busy and the ways of getting that license for all have become easier, they are doing things backward again.

I would assume the trooper is trying to stop that red car at first. There is nothing up ahead that look like debris or a backup. Plus I’ve worked with cops that drove drunk on duty, so there is that.

Lights and sirens don’t give you the authority to ignore traffic laws, he failed to yield and that ticket should be dismissed.
