Now you got the same stuff coming back up which has to be hauled to disposal this is called flowback. Then you also need tankers to haul the oil, also you have salt water coming up with the oil which is seperated and goes into a different battery of tanks. Now figure there are several thousand wells in North Dakota that have all gone through or are going through the process. Also you have powder trucks hauling sand for the frac jobs which are called sandcans. Now you also need to maintain or build dirt roads without crushed rock which will be taking the weight of all of this trucking. There is a great deal of work going on out there.
It actually takes about 5 million gallons to frac a well depending on the area. Most stages will take 5000-15000 bbl per stage and 15-35 stages per well.
Halliburton starts at $13 per hour - in the right department, you'll work 220 hours for 2 weeks, then take a week off. That equals $65420 per year.....get hurt, screw up paperwork and/or performance and all those hours turn into $45k. Have no incidents and you get more in bonuses, but you have to be at the well site up to 34 consecutive hours come summer hell or winter freeze..... So,I was peeing in my back yard when i uncovered a golden relic worth over 6million dollars and did I tell you I make $36 dollars an hour hauling sand (not including the three days I been waiting for a load and only counting that one high paying load and using only my driving time to calculate )...... just being sarcastic; If you didnt see the paycheck and the paystub with a payment detail, then it might as well be a hoax. So, what company did your friend land a job with? is he/she company or owner op? did he/she just walk up to HR department or how exactly did he end up on the payroll and how long after arriving in ND? where did he live meanwhile? how much is he making hourly and what is his job title? did he have previous experience? ......etc, etc.......to me, what really matters is the final yearly gross income per the W-2 form........ other than that, I could tell you I'm averaging $100k a year, only because past two days i've made $925.... but in reality I been on standby since 4 days ago, and again today- till who knows when..... Although, I still have high hopes of landing that $70k per year job which also has great and low medical/vision/dental plus 401k and company stock match AND allows me 5 days off every 34 days or so AND works me no more than 12 hours a day. Either way, i'll work days in a row - just to be able to show for at least one full year $70,000 gross income on my w-2. Where oh where is that job? (sigh)
You could make that much with cheap benefits and more time of at Pumpco, frac tech, sanjel, trican, nabors, pioneer, weatherford, mission well services, cj energy, Schlumberger, bayou well services. And maybe 10-20 more that I can't think of right now.
