Why do some truckers dislike flatbed trucking

Too much work!

Anyone can swing doors and bump a dock!

 

it's too much work for some people.throwing chains,tarps & straps in all kinds of weather is more than some people can handle.

 

i love flatbed wife doesnt

 

Besides the extra labor, flatbedding can be dangerous. Every year a number of flatbedders fall off loads, get smushed by collapsing pipe, or the like. You MUST stay in the moment when working around heavy objects that move, and there are no do-overs. It's like gun safety. One mistake can kill you in an instant.

According to the DOL stats, commercial fishing is the most dangerous job in the US economy, followed by logging. Truck driving in total is #10, but the flatbedding sub-group is #4. (Can't recall #3)

TO be specific fishing is #1 because crab fishing is the most dangerous job they say. You go off the boat your done. Ever watched them on tv? Not a chance in hell you'd get me on one of those mother fer's.

 

Flatbedding sucks! I will never pull a flatbed even if my life depended on it!!!
