Be cautious when you read posts by Mexico Trucker. First he spouts a lot of false statistics on Mexican truckers. Now he would have us believe that the Canadian border is problematic. Sounds like he believes in conspiracy theories. No credibility A self appointed expert who makes a living with this nonsense.

You think what he posts on here is bad? Read the crap he posts other places on the web and read his website. I have a pair of dikes in my truck for Mexican trucks. That rig ain't getting out of the US without a hefty road service bill. We have enough problems with rate cutting. I don't need a Mexican truck coming in a cutting rates even farther. Its only a matter of time.

For several years, I lived in Mexico along the main highway north. Heavy truck traffic, many are doubles pulling 100k loads. This road is in excellent shape. Give a Mexican road crew 4-6 weeks to tear out or patch several miles of a lane of concrete and it's done and open. Maybe the US could bring in their road crews instead of their drivers to make most happy about it.

    1) This week's diesel price in Mexico is about US$3.55 a gallon. No more subsidies.

    2) Mexican OTR trucks and equipment look fine for the most part. The main problem is that too many Mexican drivers are popping pills to keep running. Hair test in advance, piss tests during and at exit from the US should be a requirement along with all US regs.

    3) If a driver's using, he would also be a target of the bad guys to carry some additional non-legit cargo in hopes it gets across.

    4) Shippers in both directions across the border are getting reamed by the border brokers and their warehouses & cross docks. Shippers on both sides are paying a lot for moving loads between trailers.

379exhd, if you're messing with another drivers rig no matter where it's from, you're a scumbag and karma's a beyatch. Neither of you had a say in where you were born and you're both just trying to feed your families.

Proper justice would be to beat a politician over the head with those dikes. It's the fault of politicians not the drivers.

Guys: Do not get all excited about the Mexican trucks. Other than the units that are within about 100 miles of the border very few trucks have actually crossed. very few companies have applied to cross. 85 % of the crossings are by a Mexican cement company in bulk trucks. I bet less than 200 trucks have actually crossed! Most large carriers are either owners or partners with Mexican carriers. They DO NOT BRING the Mexican trucks into the USA. Just switches. As for Mexican roads: They are the worst in N.A. I live part of the year in Mexico and travel right to Chiapis. I am a part time driver North of the Border and would hate to take 1 single 53 on the Mexican roads. narrow, pot holes and winding! Bad signage or no signage. Not fun

Mexico trucker is actually Tim Brady. A self appointed ( or maybe anointed) expert. He is often on Sirius radio spouting lots of misinformation. Claims to have all kinds of jobs. I am betting that if one took his Bio and fact checked it he would be like those who claim to have a Harvard education but did not even make it to college. BTW: One of those cross borer truck lines just lost their license to enter the USA. Drivers had no log books, no driver application on file, no drug test and more.

Actually Mr. Smith doesn't know what he's talking about in regards to my association to the Mexico Trucker blog.

One I have nothing to do with the Blog never have. I know the person who operates it so I guess I'm guilty by association. But then I also know who the folks are at The Trucker Report, along with nearly every other trucking publication and blog in the industry. So I'm guilty of those associations also.

As far as whether I'm an expert, that I'll leave to others. I don't claim to be anything but a trucker with over a quarter of a century of trucking experience. My expertise, if there is any, is derived by knowing the people who are experts and and from my own personal experiences of nearly 2.5 million miles of accident and ticket free trucking so I know the correct questions to ask to get the the answers truckers need.

Whether I'm an expert may or may not be determined though the numerous national trucking and journalism awards I have been honored with over the years and the fact that 21 national trucking publications pay me very well to provide them with articles and content on the business of trucking. But none of that says you or anyone else needs to look at me as an expert, As that's your decision not mine.

Now if you'd like to have a discussion on your perception of the information I provide, I'm game, as I have the resources and fact checks to back up anything I present. However, usually when some one goes on the personal attack, such as you have done, it's because they lack anything to back up their position with facts, so they attack the messenger. I'm OK with that, as it only strengthens my positions. Oh and thanks for the publicity, it's appreciated.

So it's safe to say neither country want's one anothers drivers in each others countrys.
I think we can all agree on this. We meet on the border and pull our freight in our own respective countries.

While we're at it, repeal NAFTA?
