I cut mine with Fabuloso. Quarter of a bottle or so per gallon of distilled water.
In the winter I use 50/50 distilled water and RV antifreeze, or straight RV antifreeze if it's really cold out.truckdriver31, God prefers Diesels and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -

I've got -30 degree stuff, but one side still froze up at 10 degrees.
If I run the wipers on highest it will throw enough to the other side to make a difference.black_dog106, D.Tibbitt and truckdriver31 Thank this. -

You might be getting issues because of the shop. When I first got my truck, my nozzles froze up on me. Next day when it was warm enough I squirted all my washer fluid out. It took awhile! Then put in straight washer fluid (the common blue stuff every truckstop carries). Didn't have that problem again..... until...... I had a B service done on my truck. My tank was pretty low, so they added a lot of whatever they used. Then, next time it was cold again, nozzles froze up again. Aargh. Had to go through the same process and mental note, next time my truck is in for a B Service, make sure I top off my washer fluid before I take it in!
And, to the OP question about cleaning off bugs, IDk, I have the same problem most times. I do keep a squirter bottle with washer fluid and a squigee thing similar to the ones you see at truck stops, but on a collapsing handle. If I'm stopped somewhere without easy access to a truck stop island, I just break out my own stuff and clean my window.
BTW, I've been cleaning bugs off windshields since 1974 where my first job was working at a gas station that pumped your gas, cleaned your glass and checked your oil and we used a scrub sponge and chamee cloth for the windows. One trick I learned, unsure how common knowledge this is or not, is to let the bugs soak for a bit. The longer you let them soak, the easier it is to scrub them off. I know I see lots of folks that don't do that.stuckinthemud, Moosetek13, 650cat425 and 1 other person Thank this.
