I’ve almost done the same thing multiple times.Walmart has this now. It’s not pink but not dark purple either like the Rain x kind. Easy to make mistake if not paying attention lol 35FFCB9C-0D80-4E1D-9664-EE39C7AB4BB3.jpeg

I use the "pink crap" in mine every time I venture in to cold country. It doesn't freeze in the nozzles like alcohol based stuff does. It does #### up the side windows a bit more than the blue stuff, but I need to see where I'm going more than where I've been.

Ya gotta start with a squeaky clean windshield. I prep the glass with Simple Green and then polish the surface with super fine grade (0000) steel wool. Then I pour some cheap bourbon in the reservoir and I'm off to the races.

    1. Clean the outside of your glass until you remove all of the film and built-up junk.
Use ammonia (to avoid streaking use the kind that is NOT cut with water - the kind that will NOT foam if you shake the jug) and paper towels. You know you've got all the built-up junk off when it suddenly gets much harder to move the paper towel across the glass.

    2. Clean your wiper blades with a paper towel dipped in washer fluid. Keep doing this until black stuff stops transferring from the blade to the paper towel. if you do this once a month you'll be amazed at how much better your wipers will work - and how much longer they will last.

    3. Clean the inside of the glass with rubbing alcohol and paper towels. Again, clean until it gets difficult to move the paper towel across the glass which indicates that you have gotten all of the film off.

    4. I have never experimented with washer fluid additives, but I'm thinking that dishwasher detergent (like Cascade) might be good during bug season. During the rainy season, dishwasher rinse aids (like Finish Jet Dry) might be good. The whole point of that stuff is to make the water run off of your dishes and glasses by lowering the surface tension of water, so I imagine it would do the same on your windshield, windows, and mirrors.

I keep my own window cleaner in the side box. Too many idiots get oil/fuel on em. Most mom and pop places tho are usually cleaner. Less idiots fueling up there. I add a little bit of dawn too. I just use the regular blue stuff.

That spray on glass cleaner that foams up cuts through most grime really good. Just spray on, let it soak for a bit and let the wipers clean it off.

I have Glass Glitz in my box. It turns into a kind of gel when you shake it. Works good. I keep a bottle of Mean Green to, for when the bugs get real bad.
