So what do you do when Donner or Snoqualmie have their chain laws on for two or three days? Park it? Often there's just a few inches of snow at the top and they will activate chain requirements...

This question has been asked many times, and still hasn't been answered. If the truck isn't rolling, the money isn't coming in. If you have to sit 2, 3 or 4 days waiting out a chain law, where does your income come from?Giggles the Original Thanks this.

And if you wreck and have to sit for weeks where does your income come from ?
Remember, others can run into you, no matter how good a driver you are.Giggles the Original Thanks this. -
Which is why you slow down and give plenty of extra safety cushion. Don't run in a pack, and maintain visual perspective of everything around you.
Those "others" wouldn't dare "run into you" without the snow and chains...now would they?

I have chained at times when I had to, but more traffic on the road now means I would probably shut her down quicker now than in the past. Getting older, I guess.
My motto is " CIRCUMSTANCES DICTATE PROCEDURE".Each case on it's own merits. Never say never.
Kind of like Hank Jr. says "IF IT WILL, IT WILL>IF IT WON'T, IT WON'T / IF IT DOES IT DOES, IF IT DON'T IT DON'T".Last edited: Feb 26, 2012
