that's right...they cannot fire you for filing a claim, but they sure as hell CAN fire you when you return. they have thier own good reason too, "you are damaged goods and cannot perform your job duties like before you got hurt".

seen it my self with my relative...after like nearly 30 years of employment, only the usual vacation and holidays off, they canned her when she went back to work.

    tscottme Thanks this.

Don't matter how stupid or unsafe. You get hurt on the job, the company has to cover your medical. Sure they can, and probably should, fire you, but your stupidity does not give them a free pass on you getting hurt on the job..

Please stop spreading misinformation. Have you ever had a workers comp claim? I did. It has nothing to do with percent of pay unless you make a very small amount. It's topped out per week not based on percent of pay, just based on pay.

    tscottme and Numb Thank this.

This information is wrong as well.

Workers comp is no fault. If you are hurt at work, no matter why, they MUST cover your medical expenses.

right, a good w/c lawyer can get you all the money you deserve, however, he cannot help you if you get fired when you go back.

this goes to what i advocated for decades...

"company has no loyalty to the worker"

"i had no loyalty to the company"

we are all numbers, even the companies...nothing but a number

    Numb Thanks this.
