Yes you are. You can't be sued by your employer for being hurt on the job.

    Numb Thanks this.

It wasn't my state. I was shot in another state besides the one I live in. And yes, they all pay.

I know exactly what I'm talking about. I dealt with workers comp for almost a year, directly. How many verifiable workers comp claims do you have?

    Numb Thanks this.

It's so nice to know the Michigan Workman's Comp site is lying then. I wonder what workman's comp paying in Michigan since their site claims 80%.

And yes, that is sarcasm. All that means is every state is different.
Some cap out, some don't. Some pay a better percentage than others, some have a better cap than others.

tscottme and 88 Alpha Thank this.

Like I said before, it's based on a cap. If you're making a million a year, you won't make 800.000 a year with 80% cap. I was paid about 30% not because the state I was shot in capped at 30% but because that's all they pay. I don't care what their site claims, you are NOT going to make 80% of your pay UNLESS YOU ARE PAID VERY LITTLE. Seems like I said that already. The max Michigan will pay is 1048 dollars a week. That's it. If you make 2000 a week you'll make 1048 a week, which is 50% NOT 80%.

Yea, I don't know what I'm talking about. I seem to be the ONLY person here who ACTUALLY has a workers comp claim recently.

So you are saying the Official Michigan website is wrong. Gotcha!.

Or you can admit you are wrong, I know that's impossible for you but everyone here knows you are.

It wasn't worth the time to file for such petty pay. For a short time. So I have none.

    My brother has one.

    Any other questions?

My claim was from 20+ years ago, but not much has changed in the years since. What surprised me about the whole thing was that my particular injury was a cut-and-dried short-term claim for an injury which was obvious, and which I was recovering from at a rate which was expected (I remember it was about 4 months total). Yet, there were 2 practicing attorneys which came to the WC adjudication hearing. The attorney's fees alone were probably more than my entire claim payout!

Yea, mine was huge. I was almost killed on the job by an armed robber who shot me 6 times. My hospital bill alone was in the solid 6 figures.

K so you have ZERO experience with workers comp.

    Thanks for playing!
