I got to thinking about this coming down I-80 today. What do you all think is the worst state to drive through as far as road construction goes this year?

I vote Ohio. I don't think there is a road in that entire state wide enough for a truck that doesn't have a construction cone on it. I-80 is a disaster through there. You have that stupidly low 50mph speed limit protecting mile after mile of empty cones, and there is a new construction zone every 5 miles or so when you finally get to the end of one. And of course the cops were out in full swing making it an illegal-speed-trap-that-looks-a-little-like-a-work-zone.

    Indiana is a close second.

I agree with everything you said here 100% I live in Ohio and Akron, Ohio is #1 for Road Construction it never ends and has been going on in Akron since the dawn of time. Cleveland forget about it. I-80 is exactly as described.

I'll say my home state of Indiana. Our great governor keeps bragging about all the money we have, that's because he won't spend the money to fix our roads! Ohio is pathetic as well as Birmingham Alabama!

I agree with Ohio, Indiana, and Pennsylvania. But these zig zag 50 mph tight curves in Texas with no wiggle room on 35 take the cake. Then you have all the dump trucks and the rest of the idiots trying to pass. Extremely stressful I'll take the 200 miles of construction in Ohio any day!!

I agree with everything posted so far. This might be a first. Ohio tries to fix the entire state all at once, but never seems to make any progress and Indiana does almost nothing. My kidneys will never be the same thanks to running I-70 through Indiana so much. Also, I despise Akron. Hell, I despise that whole stretch from Hubbard to Seville. I get to do it 2-4 times a week and still am not numb to it yet.

Illinois is vying for the title as well. I 80 is under construction from just west of Chicago to the Iowa line. It's brutal during the day.

Yes! I just came through those zig zags yesterday. I thought I was gonna wear out my mirrors, I was checking them so much. The dumps and bullhaulers didn't bother me but there were a few deadhead flatbeds that were bouncing all over the place.
