Think it takes around 3yrs to come off your record,
..... Don't hide it on the application, just keep putting apps out at prime jobs only while you work for your current company
It just seems like all trucking companies have it out for you when you quit working for them, that's why I try to leave on a good note by blowing lots of smoke up their butts on the way out the door
.... Wait for the call on that new ltl gig
Would this be on my "record"

OP how long have you been driving btw? -
Don't they just chisel things like this right into your license?
-
Lil over a year now. I've got an overweight ticket, parking ticket, had to pay out the wazoo for a speeding ticket to come off my record and almost got an overlength ticket yesterday but I told the cop I just had a baby and can barely put food on the table (true). b.s. ticket imo they didn't even have any signs up . "There doesn't have to be a sign" the cop says to me.
-
It's true no signs necessary. But just for all you posted you will receive your sign soon!NavigatorWife, Big Don and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

I think the tickets might hurt more than a backing accident.
I dunno, all you really can do is try and find out.
As a man once said, " Seek & yes will find, knock on the door & it will be opened."
A year is some time in. If you were brand new, then I'd definitely stay put. But compare apples to apples when you make your move, so it's not something worse.
And please GOAL. I'm old and decrepit and goal all the time.
The fender you save might be mine.
Good luck.NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
No signs necessary? What if 4 wheelers got speeding tickets but there was no posted speed change? Truckers r just second class citizens I guess.NavigatorWife Thanks this.

I was one. You have more than one run in and I don't believe in coincidences.

Thank god they don't
HOWEVER... if it is injury accident and I run over your leg and you lose same, yes. Now if it happened on the big road that is all over, if it happened on private or company property OSHA reportable. If I killed you hell yes.
Hell, there were times I almost got killed my own stupid self in docks for being so tired. I once left my trailer at Ft Morgan CO, the meat plant there. Got out of the bobtail to head to the wash bay, by then the yard jockey had grabbed my trailer and is backing same at top speed into the wash bay. I took two jumps and dove into cattle gore and green water to get out from under my own trailer. I was not sure if I was going to make it. THAT would have been a interesting death.
Not something you want on the record.
Any time you do damage to another person or his or her property of any kind it's reportable. And usually preventable unless the other person was a total aggressor and you have the dash cam talking for you. I cannot tell you how many times Ive done some explaining to a recruiter over this accident or that accident. Especially preventable ones.
The one kind of accidents that did not cause any trouble were those old west coast mirriors that got snapped off by me in dark unmarked lots such as Dallas TA in West Virginia. Had me a stack of 20 dollar bills to buy the man his new mirrior of his or her choice without any argument or information exchanged. This was back in my younger learning to drive outside of school blind side education money. Took me a thousand dollars worth of mirriors I guess.
It balances out when PAM trucking rips off your entire front end in Katy Texas trying to leave the truckstop in the middle of the night hooking the right side tandems into the axle and peeling it all off with me inside. THAT was interesting.
Parking tickets were the other thing that did not get on the license, UNLESS you fail to pay the fine and they come after you.
Child support is another thing. They can get your license for that. So mr Young Driver, keep yourself zipped. Or the State will.
Even today I get worried a little bit when I have to snuggle my trailer into someone else's trailer in a crowded dock. Im not worry for me but hopefully that sumgum will stay put and don't do something stupid and get hurt while Im getting it in there.
