Would You do this load ?

Exactly right. Bulk haulers are busy this time of year. Whoever their usual hauler is they're probably not available or they're on higher paying loads or they're smart enough not to run for the advertised rate. They're trying to slide one past you.
If they're loading your van in bulk they'll either blow the stuff in with a hose or use a conveyor. Either way is messy and creates a huge amount of dust.
If your weights aren't right you either have to shovel off the overload or use a mormon-board if anybody has one. I watched a guy do that one time and it was ugly.
Unloading is also dust filled . If the humidity is high you'll get that crap clinging to everything.
We've hauled it in hoppers but I wouldn't even consider a van load.
The rate sucks, too.

 

Why woud you trash your equipment like that for such a low-ball rate?

 

I’ve hauled these loads but not out of Blythe. You will have to have a wash out when done. Loading and unloading are both FCFS. Loading has been an hour or two. First time I hauled one unload took almost 7 hours because there were about 40 trucks there. Second unload was about 2 hours. After the second one I just figured it was not worth it.

 

A $1.80 a mile? Are you on drugs?

 

My trailer is an investment, and I'm not going to trash it for a crappy low paying load. Perhaps a crappy extremely high paying load though.

 

I hauled gypsum sheets out of plant city Florida.

I don't know much about this stuff but hate the nursing required to make sure every sheet arrived pristine. You think you are building a chapel or something with it. what with the rains. Fortunately that was the only load of the stuff I ever had.

 

Gypsum is a sister to lime and used to increase the PH level on soil. It is not very hard on steel like N, P and K. Yes it can stick in out of the way places and hold moisture there.
Blown in a box like that could make it look like a pregnant cow.
It is also used in tooth paste. That does not mean I want to cheep freight it in my box.
