Wrong way driver, kills tanker driver Ft Worth

    Just saw this on the news. A wrong way driver in a pick up truck, on I ~ 30 West in Ft Worth, hit a Tanker Driver head ~on, the tanker then burst into flames, the tanker driver died almost instantly accord. to news, this happened about 3:30 am, the fire is still burning. I ~30 is to be closed indef. right now...prayers for the family and friends....so sad...I HATE this kind of stuff!!!!!!

    Just saw it as well. This is in the W bound lane of I 30 E at Beach St in Ft Worth. Road is closed both directions indefinitely. Take I 20 or I 820 and go the long way around if you are not familiar w/ FTW streets. God bless the poor driver and his family.

    yeah they finally got the fire put out just minutes ago and east bound has reopened...but have to resurface westbound...so its closed indef.

    as a truck driver, that is one of my biggest fears...a wrong way driver, and I agree with Condo...prob. a drunk, due to going wrong way, and time of morning. SO SAD....

    Here in San Antonio, we've had a rash of wrong-way drivers - usually drunk, no lights on, etc... going the wrong way on a freeway. Killed a female SA cop last week when she was responding to an incident.

    Other than those BIG "wrong way" signs, I don't know what can be done to avoid this in the future.. if you're plastered and can't read normal road signs, you can't read those, either.

    Prayers for the driver's family.
