You could in the past but it got so obivious that many states cracked down on it.AR. had a major crackdown and charge a lot of companies with back taxes they claimed was owed to them.
You said in a earlier post that your options were open in that case it would make more sense for you to move to OK.for all the business advantages.

In. has low rates on base plates, really low. Plus, plates can be re-sold to the next O/O if the previous O/O didn't use the whole year. Ok. used to be notorious for letting trucking companies use an address in their state and get away with cheap fees.

Illinois is NOT business or trucker friendly. I'd consider Indiana, there's a saying around here, "We lose more jobs to Indiana than India."

That made up for all bull sheyat that Cali pulls on O/O's......
Cali is the only state to best of my knowledge that will try to tax you twice if you are a Cali based interstate carrier.....You buy a new rig out of Cali you obliviously pay the FET......When you go to the DMV to get your IRP plates (Which as you know the registration is split between the states..) They try to get a "Sales Tax-Title Fee-Registration Fee" out of you as well.....You have to remind them that it is for the IRP base plate and not an intrastate plate.....Otherwise you'll be out $15k........ -
