Kind of hard to scam the Air Force now, all loads come thru Menlo.
You can look at all the bills on the freight you haul at LS, any time from your computer, you can see the actual billed amount and who is paying.

From what I heard at the time (2004?) the traffic agent at the air base got a kick back on every load... she got a slap on the hand and, I believe, took an early retirement from the contractor she worked for.

I liked Landstar but their agents are running the company straight into the ground and LS is letting them. Who are they going to listen to, you with one truck or a multi million dollar agent?

I've been hauling for Landstar for about 7 months, not as a BCO,
just off of their load board, I have my own authority.
Never had any problems w/any runs anywhere.

Most of the brokers seen more professional.
I have spoken with Landstar about leasing on with them,
still considering it, maybe in the spring......

Why would you want to lease to Landstar if you are running your own authority?

    Hey Russ...
I think if I were to lease on with Landstar, I'd put my Authority inactive and run under theirs. Reason being, they require Hazmat and that's a whole 'nuther headache if you have your own Authority. More paperwork, more insurance, blah blah blah...

Got your voice mail, sorry I've not yet called back...I will

i had very few problems with agents while leased to the star.....the ones i did, i let know thru weekly phone calls to both the agent, and HQ (one still owes me money)

if i took a load off the board it fit my needs, and payed what i would accept

some agents are good, some are horrible.....same as any other outfit, but i made more money there, doing what i wanted, when i wanted......than anywhere else i have worked

i never should have sold my truck.....guess ill hafta buy anouther one and re-lease

Landstar requires HAZ MAT , but you don't ever have to run it!

Me personally , I think they require it for the background check, even though they complete an extensive background check anyway through an outside vendor that they contract with.

Give me a call anytime, after 9pm and weekends to cut down on billable minutes if you have time.
