My EGR is bad in my Volvo. As I prepared for the sticker shock, you are not going to believe this.

With labor less than $1,000 AT A VOLVO DEALER.

I highly recommend CTI in Champaign, IL. They have always given me fair prices and do not seem to mark-up parts the way other Volvo dealers do.

    windsmith and RizenPhoenix Thank this.

Thats not bad at all, any warranty? I ask as I had an o4 volvo with cummins ISX and when they replaced mine at Cummins it was warrantied for a year and had to be replaced 3 more times (in that year) all covered.

Well don't go to worldwide equipment there in Chattanooga! I wouldn't take a lawn mower to those guys again. Parts and Labor are outrageous and they don't do a good job fixing problems.

have them check the egr cooler....... if you are using ANY water at all that is the reason the egr valve went bad.....

if the cooler is going bad have it changed..... did the cooler and both valves for under 3,200 at volvo in laredo

If I remember right I found a website that sells the solenoids for the EGR valves I believe there were $68 apiece, They are the same solenoids that Volvo uses, ( Volvo does not make selenides they buy them from a vender ) only difference is that they did not have the plastic plug on the ends to plug into The existing wire harness you would have to spice into them.

As for the EGR Cooler, you can get it here for about $750.00 I think . They cut out the old metal and weld in stainless, the vender says this'll outlasts the motor and you'll never have to buy another EGR cooler again.
