The 780 is unverisally acknowledged as probably the best riding truck on the market, especially if you have the air ride steer axle option. So is spending the $5k on a Bose seat worth it? We did the Bose demo at this year's MATS and I fully appreciated the capabilities of what the seat can do. Their demo was pretty extreme on the simulated road surface and to be honest I'd never experienced such bouncing around in our 780. I can understand someone reporting huge improvements when one is installed in a freight shacker or a long nose Pete but I really think that the effect will be some what less in the 780. So has anyone got one in a 780 and can say yes it's worth the price?. I realize that there are many positive ramifications to having the seat but if I'm not going to see a $5k improvement then I might just as well spend $1200 on a premium seat from another manufacture.

We will be testing some Bose seats here at Bison. It will be a 9 month test.I know of a carrier here in Canada that had an older driver that had a back problem so bad he could only work 1-2 days a week. They put in a Bose seat and he can now work a full week.

If you aready have a good riding truck, why spend THAT much money on a seat ? I would go with a National or Bostrom. They probably have the options available at a fraction of the cost of 5K and will do the same. If you want to throw away 5K, do it in a tune.

Yup, if you don't require a particular feature, why spend that much extra money on it? If your stock seat is wore out then the rest of your interior is probably showing signs of wear too, I'd go with another premium seat and use the difference to upgrade the rest of the interior. Of course, if you have any complaints with milage or power, a tune or mechanical upgrades might be the way to go. You didn't mention any complaints, but who doesn't want more power?

It's not so much for me, rather than the wife. She has complained about more prominent lower back pain, along with somewhat elevated usual end of day body fatigue. It now turns out that she has been driving with all the air out of the seat!, as this is the only way she can get a comfortable ride height. Unfortunately the Bose seat will not fix that issue as it goes no lower than a standard seat, so that cancels out that option. So with the lack of air being seemingly being the culprit I think we will opt for a premium low profile seat. Right now the new Bostrom Wide Ride II is looking the best option at about $1100 including adaptor plate and shipping. $3900 left over to go towards the new trailer :) .

    Thanks for your replies guys.

Nothing 2 10" subwoofers and good quality aftermarket speakers replacing the stock ones cant take care of if your looking sound. Its cheaper route and I sound like I'm in concert in my kw. Then go buy you a good seat and you still won't spend 5k.

The Bose seat has nothing to do with sound. Always a good idea to read what the thread is about before posting.

Never underestimate the advantages of a good seat, your back is fragile. I drive a kenworth, a western star and a Pete and the standard seats in all 3 are woeful, glad I'm not doin otr in them, after an hour my lower back hurts and my rear end goes numb, for me a seat needs not to be too soft, the base needs to tilt and lengthen, the back needs to bend half way up to support my shoulders , a full set of air adjustsble bolsters for back support and good posture and adjustable air ride then I'm comfy! $5000 may be expensive but it's not just to smooth out the ride, a good seat protects your health especially your back

All my newer john deere tractors have very good expensive not sure on the brand seats. The adjust pressure like 1 million times a second. Best riding seat I've ever sat in. But i pull the fuse an ride on the floor. Cool in the stool. Plus in 6ft7 and the #### thing adjusts the height automatically and i hate that. Get a height i can live with adjust my weight in seat and it raises me up. Hate it
