If you like that Detroit Engine, It is like Chevy and Fords but I eould look for a Cummins ISX they will normally go 1M Miles, Ask them if they would send you a Dyno sheet on either or both of them? Also ask what ntheir shops would charge to do a Rods and Mains on either or both, Leave the price as it is if they would do the Dyno and the bottom Bearings!.
buddyvuk Thanks this. -
Thats to much i got a guy in houston tx at truck salvage fleet maintained never been in snow 700,000 or less with apu for 27,500

lets see, 455 hp/3.42 vs 515 hp/3.58, a little better fuel economy or a little better at pulling the hills, everything else looks the same. Is the warranty real and usable? I don't know if you need hard parts to turn up the first one or if a tune will do it. If you turned up the first one would it void the warranty? Its kind of a coin flip. Sorry I could not be more help, good luck.

They look like nice trucks and I am assuming you want 13 speed for pulling the western hills? At any rate I think dealers pay about $15,000 wholesale for those trucks and typically put $5,000 into them as I am told so that would appear like a pretty steep asking price. As I was told once - the first 500,000 miles the truck pays you and the second 500,000 you pay the truck. I bought the warranty one time trusting the guy at Freightliner that it was a good deal - unfortunately I didnt ask more questions at the time - it didnt cover anything that broke down in the next 270,000 miles I had the truck ( 06 Columbia, items that broker down, clutch, radiator, egr cooler, ) those are the main items. It's a nice truck you are looking at however I think you can find similar specs from an O/O or if you are paying cash ( or could line up financing before hand )go to the Adesa auction and pick one up for $15,000 and put another $5,000 into it and get the same truck.

I paid $30k for an identical truck last year
And still feel like i paid too much. And that's with an apu. -

i love this website.thanks everyone..i am learning so much here
and yes , you guys are right.. they are asking to much..but its dealer, you know how they are.
Ita hard to find truck directly from owner op. its mainly dealers on truck paper. any other sites you guys recommend? -
These have '06 motors and being in OR you have to think about CARB. You will have an expensive retro fit in your future.
buddyvuk and Container Hauler Thank this. -
I like them both at 28,500. I'll favor the second one too with the lower miles and single bunk.
Century pulls less dollars than Columbia on the lot. JB dumps these in Houston with 515's and 10's, mid to high 5's for 26k all day. Just forget CA if you buy one of these.
Good hunting.
