HI All
I got a job offer from a company out in Georgia. He offered me 60 cents a mile to jockey bobtail and class b trucks around the country. The miles of course like they all say is between 2000 and 3000 per week. I would have to buy gas and when there wasn't a sleeper on the truck I would have to pay for my own lodging. What do u guys think?
Nappin
Is 60 cents a mile good for this deal?

yeah no way in hell i would do that, he best be paying for that fuel.
Raiderfanatic Thanks this. -
I am assuming it is also a 1099 position as well. Hmm, you pay all the expenses of a drive away, and he most likely pockets upwards of $1.20/mi. after paying you.
-
Plus you have to pay your own way back? (bus/airplane ticket? hitchhike?) Won't be anything left after you do that and pay the fuel and lodging. In fact, you'll probably end up losing in the deal most trips. Run far, run fast.

It will cost you at least .50/mile in fuel alone. That's on a good day!!
-
On a bad day I SPEND 72 CPM for fuel!
281ric Thanks this. -
Let's do the math shall we...
2,500 mile avg @ $.60 = $1,500
Fuel avg 10mpg @4.00/gal =$1,250
Hotel= $50/night...
Go for it ...chalupa, Cman301, mattbnr and 1 other person Thank this.
