I can see it being useful im making it harder for them to issue form error tickets.

 

With eclipse on your laptop, you don't have a device to hand the inspector for review. Therefore it's necessary for you to have your logs already printed and ready for inspection.

 

as i pointed out in another thread.

i ask for your logs and you give me your phone. i put you OOS. cuz i can't read that tiny screen.

you don't need the current day printed out. as the day isn't over with. they'll look at your screen the way it is, they only want to see that you haven't driven past your timeframe.

as for running out of ink. finding a walmart is nothing but a thing. and they are everywhere. OR, at the very least. i always have a new one waiting to be installed.

i'll take a computer log over paperbook any day. much easier, much faster, and has so much flexibility. i'll take that over scribbling a page any day.

drivers can and do get nailed for not having printouts. it don't matter WHAT you are using.

 

I have been told that ink will dry up on you, so it's best to have a laser printer.

 

Since when?

It can be shown just like the phone.

Eclipse and big road are the same.

Big road will not pay the fine or represent you.

 

Boy, this sounds like a huge hassle. What is wrong with paper logs anyway? If you don't have an ELB installed, why not just use paper instead of going though all this? What am I missing here?

 

laser printers dry out too. and are more expensive to replace.

no more of a hassle than doing a paper log, the printer I use is a 3 in 1, copier, scanner , printer, I can make copies of anything I want, I have a my fax.com account, so I get permits etc faxed directly to truck and print them off, and I use the scanner with my trip pak app to send in my bills, logs and anything else that needs to go back to the office, it serves as a mobile office.

the log program itself prevents math errors, the graph line turns read if its incorrect, automatically keeps up with miles driven for the day by your speedometer entries, and it is so nice and neat when printed off, the form I print is exactly like the paper log form the company has.

I keep extra printer cartridges on hand.

and if the printer or laptop goes on the blink, you do just as an eobr, you start a paper log.

the benefits far outweigh any hassle

 

like road medic says, hand him the laptop and tell him to click the back button in top left corner of the graph. just like big road, only on a big screen. I actually got over a years logs he could look at if I let him, right on the laptop
