Okay, so I got this gig I really like to do at Landstar right, and today while doing dedicated freight I was about 60 miles west of Missoula in Montana where I get a moving violation, a speeding citation for $85. This is my first moving violation here at Landstar & ever. It was a dang construction zone where the speed limit literally dropped from 65mph to 35mph in a 1/4 mile going DOWN HILL. So I get clocked at 53mph in the 35mph/ active construction site (18mph over). I disclosed all my paper work, handled my business, and that was that. Soo, any one here at Landstar know what the moving violation limit is, or the repercussions of this? And also I'm wondering, how will this affect the good old driving record?
im sure the safety dept will be calling Monday, operator compliance said "don't worry, you'll probably have to take some online lessons, but the second speeding ticket will terminate your lease" (which I can understand). Any one got some light to shed on this? Also, my CDL is in issued in Georgia.
Thanks in advance.

Before you freak out call the number on the ticket and politely ask if there is any way you can keep this off your record. This works two out of three times. If that doesn't work ask the person if they know how to contact a local attorney. I just did this recently and there is nothing on my record now. It was all a way to raise money for the locals not to mess up my driving record.
123456, jbatmick, bigNATURE and 1 other person Thank this. -
I see. Will do on Monday. Thanks.

anything over 15 is very bad.
anything is a construction zone is very bad,
and you got yourself both whammies.
they just want your money. ask them to change it to a log book violation or something. cuz they have to have something to fine you for. anything other then speeding. and it stays off your MVR.bigNATURE Thanks this. -
as snowwy said... 15+ is bad. So, even if you can't get it removed (or turned into a non-moving violation), you sure as hell want it reduced.
bigNATURE Thanks this. -
And here's the irony, I'm not a speeder, I live in the right lane LOL. But yeah, I will have to call the courts ASAP on Monday when they open back up. I'm borderline stressed now, go figure. They already dismissed one of my tickets because I faxed my insurance to the courts (state patrol looked over my insurance certificate before writhing my citation) AND they were very understanding etc and dismissed it right away (the failure to show proof of insurance ticket)

And what do you guys mean by "very bad" etc? b/c I know it's definitely not a good thing ...

I wouldnt mess around with that one yourself. Find a good lawyer local to that area and send it off to him. The $300 or whatever he may charge you will be well worth it seeing he can probably get it greatly reduced.

Thanks, good advice Derailed.
