Hey all, I need to hire a driver asap. After posting an ad I am not finding too many qualified candidates. Where would you go to look for drivers on the web? is there a site that drivers post their resumes?

I am located in NYC. Thanks for any help.

This site has a place to post jobs, also craigslist, or indeed.

    Berkez and maffy95 Thank this.

I know a few drivers.. Whats the job? OTR, regional or Brooklyn to Islip four times a day? Vans? Flats? or... Driving the Calexico Taco truck through SoHo to the FiDi and back?

    Jokes aside, whats the skinny?

Yes I have done that I thought if there was a place where drivers post their resumes that an employer can view. I placed the ad on Craigslist but not getting great feedback.

There are driver agencies. Like temp worker places but for drivers. I don't know what they are in NYC, but if they are out here in the backwaters :) they are certainly in the big city. They do all the paperwork, etc and you just pay them. Of course it costs more up front but probably similar to just hiring them between all teh extra costs (workmans comp, insurance, etc)

It might be well worth looking into, and many of these places will do temp workers, temp to hire, straight placement (they recruit for you), etc.

The skinny is I need a driver to drive about 500 a day... drop hook and return. Its that easy... great pay and equipment. The resumes I am reading all have 20 jobs in two years. I do not need someone for a few months.

Might have to go thru a few drivers, but if you treat them right eventually you will find one.

Make sure you ad on craigs or anywhere post is catchy. Whenever I post ads anywhere I look at some good outstanding ads on the site and just edit with my info as best I can. It's also like anything else these things sometimes take time to get somebody good. Its a numbers game. Try networking also, some people you know in the business might be able to recommend a good driver. You may find another owner operator who has drivers and may be short trucks, that worked here locally for a driver I know.

Well with the driver shortage you better bring your A game when trying to recruit a quality driver.... Great Benefits, Matching 401k, paid vacation, paid sick days, great mileage/hourly pay, great equipment....

What kind of truck? What are you paying? Those are my questions. How much experience?
