is that ALL miles. or loaded miles on the cents.
come payday, it's all about the same. but most companies only pay in the 25% range.
if he has you deadheading across the country for next loads. the percentage won't be so good.
curious as to why you asked in the owner operator section though? -
Percentage is better except when you said after repairs.so if the engine goes or you blow a recap your not getting paid?Id tell him 50% after fuel and tolls but repairs are on him as you could really get screwed on that.
-
He said the runs are only from NJ to Dallas Texas and back to NJ
sometimes I might have to dead head to Louisiana to find a load back to NJ
i'm sorry to post in the wrong forum, mods can move if they choose to -
standard in the industry is 25-30% of the gross less permits and pilot cars of you do oversize loads,,if you figure most gross freight rates are between $1.50 to $2.00/mile pay would be 37cntns/mile to 50cnts/mile if you subtract fuel 65 to 80cnts/mile the pay sucks and I would walk away from any pay the subtracts fuel and and for sure the repair deduction,, if you really want to work for them take the 37cnts/mile and see how it goes,
-
it all depends on the miles involved if there is a lot of deadhead miles, per mile is better.if you dead head a lot percentage is not the way to go.
-
Not necessarily. Depends on if the rates are any good or not. The real trouble is dishonest companies that won't share true rate info. Trust us that's what it pays.... yeah.. sure.
-
Easy to get screwed when you're on percentage, do you really think they are going to tell you exactly what the load pays ?

Lawfully they don't have a choice and must share that info with the driver. Reality is most are stealing from their drivers and have good reason to hide it. Drivers put up with it for the most part so that's just how it is - business as usual.

Sounds like a joke. Tell him 24% or find a different gig
