So I'm in Dallas for the truck show and 5:30am start smelling smoke I soon realized it was coming from my truck after getting up shutting it off ended up being the idler tensioner locked up one of the other drivers was already up out and walking around so I walked over to say good morning after telling him what happen he said let me unhook my trailer and will take my truck the parts houses are 24/7.
We went to five different places but finally rush Pete had what I needed, this guy stayed with me helping me missing the show everyone that truly knows that I'm not racist and this was a black gentlemen just goes to show you there are still lots of good people out here he wouldn't even let me buy him lunch even after finishing it we talked for hours and had more fun in the 100* heat than inside the AC show. Big thanks to any of the drivers out here that don't mind lending a hand.
We are all out here for the same reason! Don't matter what race you are slow down and start enjoying what you're doing, he told me a story about him needing water how someone stopped and seen who he was and drove off it's crazy thinking someone acted that way.
if y'all see Willy driving a old 98 black freightliner pulling a stepdeck give him a wave..thanks again for anyone that stops to lend a helping hand!!
The people I meet out on the road is the best part of trucking!

Sometimes I think if the "trouble-makers" did not tell us there was racism when there wasn't any meant, there would be a lot less problems between the races.
ShortBusKid, bullhaulerswife and Lone Ranger 13 Thank this. -

Nice story and great show. I got there Wednesday night and just got back to hotel. That is the reason I like driving to Alaska. Nobody is ever left sitting on the side of the road. A month ago I blew an airbag in the Yukon and I had plenty of help and the oldest was the first one under the trailer with me. He has been running the Alcan for 50 years and at 73 is in tip top shape.
Did you go to the BBQ last night in the truck parking lot? Good BBQ and great live music. -
bullhaulerswife and vikingswen Thank this.
