    What motor?

I am running 99 s60 12.7, bought it was getting about 6, added bully dog hdgt on power/economy I now get about 6.5 ... but I know they are not allowed to put out a file that would eliminate low nox ...

Not supposed to do a lot of things. But its done all the time.

I've got a friend who bought an 07 386 with C15 Acert motor. After pulling his hair out with DPF regen issues he found a guy who tuned out the DPF, gutted it so a visual inspection shows it still there. Says he can now get upper 6's with several tanks over 7 mpg with lighter loads, where before he was lucky to see upper 5's.

I have an 05 C15 and love my CAT. But had similar experience with CAT and DPF restricted C15's. I was resolved to going with Cummins in my next truck, but now that I know I can eliminate the DPF, I may look for an 09 -10 with the last of the C15's.

I live in Fla. We have no emissions or inspections. None of my personal vehicles have cat converters. All removed and tuned out.

Where is the best place to get a pre-emission series 60 tuned?

I think we are on very thin ice already talking about low nox and tunes and stuff. They shut that whole section down a few months back ...

If you get 6+mpg I wouldn't worry. I would try to get in a fuel program as I only pay 3.60 a gallon and get 6mpg so fuel is ~60cpm. Be happy with what your getting and drive on.

Owners are always going to want a way to get better mileage. This is horrid advice. If I can spend $3k to save $10k in fuel...gonna do it. That was just random figures I threw out btw. I'm not sure on any of those figures.

    Hammyswaggin and 281ric Thank this.
