I agree but the problem we ran into is GOOD O/O are hesitant to lease on to a small carrier just starting out.

You'll find it's the exact same way with GOOD company drivers. Small startups typically don't pay or have the benefits they are looking for. Trucking is tough in FL, but I think you already know that by now. Start adding trucks(o/o) by taking a small percentage, less than ten after insurance, and you might get a few bites. Just offering brokered freight isn't much incentive to lease to you for a big chunk, but a small percentage to have someone else handle booking loads and all the back office stuff might look beneficial to some of those Miami guys.

Thru my mentor I found a good company driver and bought another truck/trailer. I run 1 he runs the other and I think I will stick with this model for another year or so. I have more than brokered freight to offer. in fact I was offering a dedicated run Texas to GA and back. In the end I am happy with the way it worked out, Im happy, driver is happy and customer is happy, cant ask for much more than that.

I actually thought I was quoting the OP who was talking about brokered freight. If you have a good company driver, hang on to them. They are almost priceless.

Sounds like your doing fine right now so add another truck. The only problem your going to run into is finding a good person to drive it. I do have a friend who added one truck then another and now has 5. He regrets the day he was born.

in the seventies i started as a commercial fisherman
    then came the second boat
then a truck to haul the fish
then another boat keep the truck busy
then another truck to ship the other guys fish
    first boat started losing money
    reason?
I was to busy with all the other boats and trucks
the best captain was at a desk or in the pickup driving to the boats and trucks
